Solitaire

This picture taught me a valuable lesson in photography.

We were spectating at a four wheel drive off-road event at the Whitbread hop farm in Kent.

I had taken a few pictures of the vehicles, and was returning from one of the woodland sections along the side of a field that had recently been harvested.

This one ear of corn remained at the edge where it had been missed by the combine harvester, and I thought that it would make an interesting snap, contrasting with cut stalks below.

It turned out to be the best photograph that I took on the entire day!
